City Parking "Camperstop Kalimera"

The Camperstop with Ambience and..... "with a difference"

Rules, Questions and Answers

Why are there rules at "Camperstop Kalimera"?

As everywhere in life, we must and want to adhere to the rules and laws of our host country, Greece, at our "Camperstop." This makes your stay legal and pleasant. You won't experience any "surprises" and can spend the night peacefully and safely.

Why is "Camperstop Kalimera" a parking lot?

The word "camperstop" doesn't exist in Greek law; there is only "campsite" or "parking lot." The word "camperstop" is a colloquial term used by camperstop owners and motorhome drivers.
A "camperstop" cannot be registered as a business or company, as this term doesn't officially exist; it's just a name. However, to legally operate a "motorhome parking lot" or "camperstop," it must be registered as a business, which can only be done as a "parking lot."

"Camperstop Kalimera" is a parking lot officially inspected and licensed by the Ministry of Transport with special facilities for motorhomes, i.e., a "Camperstop."
At "Camperstop Kalimera," you can park and stay overnight legally, undisturbed, and safely.

Why does "Camperstop Kalimera" have a 3.5 ton limitation?

We are advantageously located close to the city and not "in the middle of nowhere", but also in a designated residential area. To protect residents, only motor vehicle businesses with customer cars up to a maximum of 3.5 ton GVW are permitted in residential areas.

Why can't you put up awnings?

An awning is considered a tent (mobile, poles, cloth fabric as weather protection). By law, tents may only be set up on organized campsites. Free camping is prohibited

Why are swimwear and sunbeds prohibited?

We are a camperstop in the urban area of a small town with many churches and deeply believing Greek Orthodox neighbors. Masses, baptisms, funerals and other church celebrations take place here within sight. Out of respect for the hospitable residents of the small town, swimwear and sun loungers are strictly forbidden here. The use of chairs and tables for a picnic in front of your motorhome is no problem.

Why do dogs have to be on a leash?

There are people who are afraid of dogs, even small and absolutely peaceful dogs. And there are dogs that sometimes react a bit "unusually". We don't want guests to have to worry about dogs roaming freely. That's why we ask you to keep your dogs on a leash, we do this with our dog as well.

Why can't people passing through dispose of it with us?
We are not a public waste disposal station, but a small, private parking service provider with limited capacity only for customers. We are not in a position to operate a public waste disposal station.
